Ablative Fractional Laser Resurfacing

Fractional laser skin resurfacing provides total rejuvenation. Following this treatment, your skin will have a smooth, youthful and glowing appearance. It is especially effective for individuals looking to improve the appearance of acne scarring and stretch marks.

What technology do we use?

The award-winning ResurFace® Fractional Er:YAG Laser delivers ablative treatments for dramatic rejuvenation results. This involves the application of heat directly to the skin in small, focused columns.

Our medical grade system is more intense than other types of non-ablative lasers. It also delivers very similar treatments results to the widely popular but more aggressive ablative CO2 laser. However, ResurFace® does not cause the same side effects and has a much shorter downtime than CO2 laser.

Benefits of the treatment:

  • Skin tightening
  • Skin Texture Improvement
  • Congested and Clogged Skin
  • Wrinkles, crow’s feet, and smoker’s lines
  • Targets crepey skin of the lower eyelids
  • Scarring, Acne scars, Stretch marks
  • Hypertrophic and Atrophic Scars
  • Treats pigmentation issues and sun damage

How does it feel?

The treatment is very tolerable, almost painless. The skin will feel ‘sunburnt’ post treatment. Therefore, ice-packs / wet gauze can be used to help alleviate any discomfort.

How does it work?

Medical Grade ablative resurfacing fractional laser produces inflammation and heat deep in the skin by depositing multiple microscopic laser beams. Subsequently, the heat spreads into the dermis and stimulates our fibroblasts. In response, the skin initiates a natural wound healing process.

Ablative lasers are used to encourage collagen regrowth while tightening the underlying skin, leading to a more youthful look. As skin heals itself, tissue and collagen stimulation will occur helping to improve skin texture, wrinkles, scarring, stretch marks etc.

How will I look after?

SWELLING is common in the treated area, but usually dissipates within a few days.

Fractional Laser beams in the skin

REDNESS in the treated area is common and usually lasts 24 hours on the Gentle settings and up to 3 days on Deep. Make-up can be applied after the initial 24 hrs.

BRONZING/ROUGHENED SKIN will last for 3-7 days as the skin expels the microscopic debris.

PIGMENT CHANGES are very rare and usually temporary. This can be minimised by avoiding sun exposure and using sun protection such as Lynton Light Protect SPF 50.

How many sessions will I need?

This will depend of the quality of the skin, age, life style, diet and pre-existing skin problems. Generally, 2-5 sessions will be required 2-6 weeks apart, depending on the setting of the treatment.
