At our clinic we offer a range of natural non-invasive acne treatments, including Ultrasonic Deep Skin therapy , IPL (intense pulsed light), gentle natural Glycolic Peel , and Dracula PRP (Platelet Reach Plasma). For best results, we advise to combine two or more of these treatments. The combination will depend on the individual case, affordability and time of the year.

Acne is a chronic inflammation of the sebaceous glands, leading to the appearance of large red and yellow spots usually on a person's face. This happens when glands that produce sebum become blocked. In itself, this is not a dangerous condition, but the considerable effect it has on a person's appearance can cause emotional stress, affecting self esteem and social life. Although acne is often associated with puberty, untreated papules may lead to life-long disfiguring scarring of the skin. More than 80 percent of the world's population is affected by acne at some point during their life.

What causes Acne?

Rise in androgen levels, also known as testosterone, is one of the main causes of acne. This hormone increases in both boys and girls during puberty, causing sebaceous glands to enlarge and make more sebum (oil). Heredity and genetics can also play a role in this skin condition.

On average, men tend to be more affected by acne during their teens, whereas women can continue to suffer acne or develop symptoms later in life. The reason acne can affect women worse is the ongoing changes in hormone levels experiences by their bodies. For example, acne can flare up 2-7 days before the monthly menstruation period, around pregnancy, or in response to contraception. Additionally, certain drugs, including androgens, lithium and barbiturates, are known to cause acne.

Acne can also be aggravated by external factors, such as stress or emotional tension. Greasy cosmetic products can provoke acne, but do not cause it. Air pollution, squeezing or picking at blemishes, and hard scrubbing of the skin can make acne worse.

Most deep acne scars are treated with combination of surgical procedures and deep skin resurfacing. On average, when acne lesion heal they leaves red marks on the skin. These are not scars and can heal without any lasting skin damage. However, acne often manifests as scores of reoccurring spots in the same area. The body cannot cope with healing them quick enough, and this can lead to permanent skin damage. Therefore, the best way to prevent acne scarring is to prevent acne lesions from occurring in the first place. This is what we offer at our clinic.

Deep Skin Therapy does exactly what it says - cleanses your skin DEEPLY.
This therapy is the first step in loosening the debris that is blocking the glands. Skin cells have an adhesive property. This means that even after they die, they continue to cling to the surface of the skin forming a protective layer. The skin can typically shed any excess of that layer during the normal skin renewal process.

This mechanism is slower in skin that is excessively oily. Dead skin cells are slower to naturally exfoliate and instead form clumps, clogging the pores and leading to black heads. This feeds the acne bacteria and they multiply.

Deep skin treatment cleans black heads, diminishes large pores and restores the natural cell renewal process in the skin.

Laser/IPL to treat ACNE

Laser/IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) offers the best combination of low risk and minimal downtime. Our medical grade IPL can achieve remarkable results of long term remission of acne. The treatment directly targets deep-seated bacteria in pustules and papules that affect the sebaceous glands. At the same time, the gentle heating of the skin promotes fibroblast activity and stimulates collagen which may reduce mild acne scarring and accelerate the healing process. These effects blend to reduce redness, combat spots, lessen inflammations and frequency of your breakouts. The treatment leads to long term remission of acne.

The number of treatments necessary varies from person to person as acne is a complicated condition with physiological and psychological components. However, most people see significant improvements in 4-6 sessions.

We use the latest advanced Medical Grade Laser, have more than 20 years on Medical experience and more than 15 years of hands on Aesthetic experience. Our treatments are low risk and our customers' result are guaranteed and long lasting.

IPL is ideal for helping prevent acute acne that could lead to scarring. However, if you have already developed acne scarring, and your acne is currently in a remission phase, photo-rejuvenation and other treatments we offer in our clinic can help remodel collagen and improve the appearance of your skin. Please follow this LINK for further information.

Glycolic Peel can be done on its own or as a course of 6 treatments, but we have noticed that it works best when combined with Deep Skin Cleansing and IPL. We recommend this peeling only at winter months as it may be dangerous to expose your skin to sun straight after the treatment.

Dracula PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is a proven method to control acne and correct acne scars. The method is not new and leads to exciting results. When your own blood is injected back into your skin, the body naturally begins a healing process. The platelets in our blood trigger immune response and may diminish acne breakouts. They regrow collagen and elastin - the building blocks of young and healthy skin. For best result, we recommend PRP together with Dermapen and as an add-on therapy to laser acne scar treatment.

Before you decide to visit us, please remember that ACNE has hormonal underlying causes that CANNOT BE REVERSED. We can only help you deal with its symptoms by CONTROLLING the condition of your SKIN. We always achieve very good results but it does not happen over night. Therefore, you need to be patient.

Unfortunately, our acne treatments are not available on the NHS. Your GP will usually prescribe antibiotics or Roaccutane. Antibiotics have to be taken over several months and although they may treat your skin, they may also seriously damage the friendly bacteria in your stomach and intestine. Roaccutane also has some unwanted side-effects, including damage to the liver and mood swings.
