TREATMENTS FOR ACNE
What is ACNE?
Acne is a chronic inflammation of the sebaceous glands. Acne is caused by an excessive amount of oil production, blockage of the openings to the sebum producing glands (resulting in blackheads) and a P. acnes bacteria which causes inflammation in the blocked glands. These three factors produce the red and yellow spots. While it is estimated that more than 80 percent of the world's population is affected by acne at some point during their life, there is still no cure. It can cause considerable emotional stress, affecting self esteem and social lives, and occasionally lead to life long scarring of the skin.
Benefits of the treatment:
● Long-term clearance
● Closure of large pores
● non-invasive quick treatment
● Reduction of overall redness
● Reduction of sebum secretion
● Control over amount of new pimples
● Reduction of irritation and inflammation
● Improvement of the skin texture
● NO injections or surgery involved
● Affordable monthly treatments
● Minimal discomfort during the treatment
Rising hormone levels is one of the important factors which cause acne. These hormones, called androgens, increase in both boys and girls during puberty and cause sebaceous glands to enlarge and make more sebum (oil). Another factor is heredity and genetics.
Factors that can make Acne worse in women are changes in hormone levels. This may cause acne to flare in their teens and when they are older. Usually it happens 2-7 days before their period. Hormones also change at pregnancy, when you start or finish taking birth control pills. Stress or emotional tension may aggravate the disorder. In addition, certain drugs, including androgens, lithium and barbiturates are known to cause acne. Greasy cosmetic products may alter cells therefore aggravate this skin condition but they do not cause Acne. Also, environment irritants, squeezing or picking at blemishes, and hard scrubbing of the skin can make acne worse.
Acne affects up to 80% of people in their teens and twenties, and up to 50% of older adults. While many people recover from Acne without any permanent effects, some people are left with disfiguring acne scars. There are some topical treatments available but most deep acne scars are treated with combination of surgical procedures and skin resurfacing.
After the acne lesion has healed, it leaves a red mark on the skin which is not a scar and normally would heal without skin change. The problem with Acne is that so many spots can be presented at the same area that the body cannot cope with healing them. The best way to prevent acne scarring is to prevent acne lesions from occurring.

Your GP will usually prescribe antibiotics or Roaccutane which may have a varying degrees of success to combat your acne. Antibiotics have to be taken over a few months and while treating your skin may seriously damage normal bacteria in your stomach and intestine. Roaccutane has some unwanted side-effects too. It may damage your liver and causes mood swings.
At our clinic we offer range of natural non-invasive treatments. As a golden base we advise to combine Ultrasonic Deep Skin Cleansing , IPL (intense pulsed light) and gentle natural Glycolic Peel . Combination of these treatments always depends on every individual case, affordability and time of the year.
Deep Skin Cleansing does exactly what it says - Cleanse your skin DEEPLY.
Deep exfoliation is the first step in loosening the debris that are blocking the follicle. Skin cells have an adhesive property that enable them to cling to the surface of the skin. The protective “horny layer” forms the outermost layer of the skin. Your pores are not holes in the skin; they’re tiny indentations in its surface. That’s why this layer of sticky surface cells is present inside the pores as well. And if you have clogged pores, you’re cursed with extra-sticky skin cells, which clump together inside the pores blocking the natural flow of oil out of the pore. Acne bacteria show up to feast on this oil. Sometimes “super sticky” skin cells are caused by your own skin’s adhesive properties, and sometimes it’s caused by the products you apply to the skin.
Laser/IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is the desired option for most due to good outcomes, low risk and minimal or no downtime. IPL has an antibacterial effect as well as a calming effect on sebaceous glands.
The method of Laser/ IPL treatment has been developed to provide longer-term benefits safely and effectively. Laser/IPL is a non-invasive alternative Acne treatment. During and following the treatment the bacteria will be destroyed and the inflammation of the sebaceous gland is reduced and its activity limited. This can result in long term remission from acne. If Acne is in a long remission phase or is not active; Photo-rejuvenation will be advisable as a collagen remodeling treatment. This treatment will improve overall texture of the skin by stimulating growth of new collagen and elastin, therefore diminishing the scars appearance. It tightens the skin diminishing large pores/scars and giving the skin glowing appearance and gentle and natural uplift.
The number of treatments necessary varies from person to person. A specific number of treatments during active acne cannot be guaranteed as acne is a complicated condition with physiological and psychological components. However, most people achieve a significant reduction in the severity and frequency of outbreaks in 4-6 sessions.
We use the latest advanced Medical Grade Laser, have more than 20 years on Medical experience and more than 12 years of hands on Aesthetic experience. Therefore, our treatments are safe and our customers' result are guaranteed and long lasting.
Glycolic Peel can be done on its own as a course of 6 treatments but we have noticed that it works well when combined with Deep Skin Cleansing and IPL. We tend to recommend this peeling only at winter month as it may be dangerous to expose your skin to sun straight after the treatment.
Dracular PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is an exciting proven method using your own blood to control acne and correct acne scars on the skin. The method of injecting your own blood into the face is not new and is showing exciting results for patients looking to correct acne scars and rejuvenate their skin.
The platelets found in our blood have ability to trigger immune response and regrow collagen and elastin, the building blocks of young and healthy skin. When your own blood is injected back into your skin, the body naturally begins a healing process. We often recommend PRP together with Dermapen and as an add-on therapy to laser acne scar treatments, to deliver the best results possible to our acne scar patients.
