In the last few weeks demand for facial rejuvenation treatments has significantly increased. It is understandable that people would want to look brighter and fresher as Christmas parties season approaches.
One of our most favorited by our customers treatment is Vitamin Mesotherapy with DERMAPEN.
First question is how the treatment which causes the face to be pink and puffy will almost instantly make your skin to glow. The principle behind DERMAPEN treatments is quite simple – controlled damage of the skin with tiny needles forces it to repair itself naturally fast.
The answer to this question is skin cell regeneration through micro-needling – numerous studies have demonstrated that the micro-trauma to the skin which occurs through using the DERMAPEN stimulates collagen and elastin which improve the thickness and smoothness of your skin.
Micro-needling also helps smooth small, thin wrinkles, such those around the eyes, and “does a very nice job” on upper-lip wrinkles, comments Tina A. Alster, an associate professor of dermatology at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
We combine DERMAPEN with hyaluronic acid to give the treatment result extra reinforcement.
Hyaluronic acid is a substance that is naturally present in the human body. It is found in the highest concentrations in fluids in the eyes and joints. People take hyaluronic acid for various joint disorders, including osteoarthritis. It can be taken by mouth or injected into the affected joint by a healthcare professional.
The FDA has approved the use of hyaluronic acid during certain eye surgeries including cataract removal, corneal transplantation, and repair of a detached retina and other eye injuries. It is injected into the eye during the procedure to help replace natural fluids. Some people apply hyaluronic acid to the skin for healing wounds, burns, skin ulcers, and as a moisturizer.
There is also a lot of interest in using hyaluronic acid to prevent the effects of aging. In fact, hyaluronic acid has been promoted as a “fountain of youth.”
Second question how long the redness following the treatment will last. This will depend of the skin and depth of the treatment. We’ve been doing Mesotherapy for 3 years and performed a few hundred cases. Majority of our customers would have some moderate redness for 24-48 hours. They were able to continue with normal activities next day using some light foundation application. Only one customer had redness for 4 days but still was comfortable to get out of the house with application of make up.
Due to the second question being quite commonly asked we decided to give a visual example of the post treatment look.
And the final question – how many treatments would you need. This depends on your age and the condition of your skin. If you are age between 30 and 40 and care about your skin you would most probably have a nice result after 2 treatments. If your age falls between 40 and 55 the you skin will require 3 sessions to strive and glow. People with scarring might need 4-6 sessions.
We have heard that some practitioners performing this treatment in 4-6 weekly session courses. This is very wrong and goes against body’s natural physiology and healing abilities. It takes around 6 weeks for skin to heal normally after any physical stimulation of collagen. This would be applied to treatments like Laser, IPL, Chemical peeling or Micro-needling. Damaging the skin weekly will lead to high risk of scarring, infection, prolonged redness and extra sensitivity. We follow set guidelines and will always recommend to leave 6 weeks between treatments.
There are a few home use devices available through sites like Ebay and Amazon stating that this treatment can be performed at home without paying a high price. But dermatologists urge caution in doing it yourself because of the risk of infection and scarring. And a recent scientific paper detailed some cases of an allergic reaction caused by serums applied during and after the therapy at home.
