SPECIALIST SKIN PEELS

we offer a wide range of specialist skin peels.

As we age, our skin is constantly being exposed to a wide range of external irritants, such as ultraviolet rays from the sun, air pollution, and smoke, harsh weather and external stress. Many skin problems are caused by or are associated with an excessive build-up of dead skin cells that makes the skin thick and dull, and may cause clogged pores.

Older, photo-aged skin has slower cell maturation and increased adhesion compared to younger skin. The result is a thickening of the outer layer (stratum corneum), which has impaired barrier function, with poor light reflection, resulting in dullness or sallow (yellow-grey) complexion. Water escapes more easily, resulting in dehydration. This damaged epidermal barrier allows increased irritant penetration, resulting in skin sensitivity and erythema (redness). Pigmentary changes also occur. Collagen is degraded by photo-aging, resulting in the formation of fine lines and wrinkles. In advanced photo-aging, damaged elastin is evidenced in coarse wrinkling, sallow discolouration and skin thickening. Abnormal dilation of blood vessels also commonly results in reddening of the skin.

Regular exfoliation with chemical skin peels, combined with daily home skin products, improves overall skin function, and effectively treats photo-aged skin. Also referred to as superficial skin resurfacing treatments, chemical skin peels remove the outer skin layers.

Your specialist will recommend the most appropriate peel and home-care regimen after conducting a professional diagnosis and analyzing your skin type.

GLYCOLIC PEEL

NeoStrata peeling systems and products can be used and prescribed by medical practitioners only. They are not available to beauty salons and over the counter.

The biggest advantage that glycolic peels have over other kinds of acid peels is that it is one of the few chemical peels that can be used on a wide variety of skin types. Because of this, it can be used for more than just the typical acne treatment, making it one of the most versatile and most effective cosmetic treatments available from dermatologists and cosmetic surgeons today. For acne sufferers, this means that it can help fade acne scars or keep new outbreaks from occurring, balance extremely oily skin, reduce enlarged pores or uneven pigmentation marks.

We offer a comprehensive range of skin peeling systems and professional skin care products suitable to meet the needs of all individuals and skin types to promote skin exfoliation and enhanced cell turnover.

NeoStrata superficial peeling systems and products can be used to improve a multitude of skin imperfections such as fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation irregularities, mild to moderate acne, superficial acne scarring, keratosis pilaris, pseudo-folliculitis barbae and benign lentigines. NeoStrata peels and products are uniquely formulated to improve signs of aging and sun damaged skin. Appropriate therapy is matched to your skin type.

How is it applied?
Glycolic Peel treatment also known as Sugar Cane Peel (as it is extracted from raw cane sugar) is a specific technique for skin renewal. The treatment is mainly designed to give one a fresh and youthful appearance. Leading dermatologists and plastic surgeons have long appreciated the positive results of this treatment which is ideal for treating and reducing skin sun damage, fine lines, dull skin tone, enlarged pores and hyperpigmentation including age spots. The areas treated are face, neck, top of the back, decollete and back of the arms. The treatment is carried out by medical practitioners only.

The skin is tested for acid tolerance one week prior to the first treatment. The procedure lasts for 15-30 min and consists of three stages. 1st stage - application of various strengths of Glycolic Peel starting from 2 min with 20% and gradually increasing to 5 min with 70% within a course of 6-8 weekly treatments. The initial course is usually followed by a personal programme of monthly maintenance.

There is no need to change normal life style
Glycolic Peel is superficial and therefore the patient does not look dramatically different after the procedure. One may have some light redness and puffiness for 1/2 an hour afterwards. Usually people look like they have just had a nice facial treatment or have been in a sauna. There is no skin peeling, blistering or stinging as it will be prevented by a Bionic Cream post procedure application. Slight flaking of the skin may though occur after 50% and 70% acid application.

Glycolic Peel is a gold base because it allows, although superficial, deep skin exfoliation. Some results may be seen after first treatment and obvious change in the skin quality and appearance will be observed at the end of the course.

Glycolic Peels are found to be very effective in treatment of Melasma. Melasma, also known as Cholasma, is a common condition more often found in women than in men. Although it has been known to affect women of all skin tones, those with darker tones (Indians, Hispanics, Middle-Easterners, and North Africans) are more susceptible to this condition while 10% of the cases involve dark skinned men. Melasma is characterized by irregular tan or brown patches of dark skin on the face or more specifically on the cheeks, upper lip, nose, forehead, jawline and in rare occasions the forearms.

Result of Glycolic Peel can be enhanced by Ultrasonic DEEP SKIN Exfoliation.

This combines the luxuries of a chemical peel in conjunction with advanced Exfoliation and therapeutic facial ultrasound treatment which involves a tree-step process; first Ultrasound buffs away the dull outer layer, second a Glycolic application is immediately applied to absorb deeper into the dermis, third an Ultrasound massage that achieves deep penetration and absorption of topical moisturiser. The ultrasound treatment rejuvenates and defends against the aging process by reducing lines and softening wrinkles. This routine is advisable to people who suffer from Melasma.

You will not be hustled or pushed into buying anything at your first consultation. It is designed and designated to provide necessary knowledge and understanding of the treatment and the technology used to assist you in making your own decision.
