TREATMENTS for ACNE
Rising hormone levels is one of the important factors which cause acne. These hormones, called androgens, increase in both boys and girls during puberty and cause sebaceous glands to enlarge and make more sebum (oil). Another factor is heredity and genetics.
Factors that can make Acne worse
In women, changes in hormone levels may cause acne to flare. Usually it happens 2-7 days before their period. Hormones also change at pregnancy, when you start or finish taking birth control pills. Stress or emotional tension may aggravate the disorder. In addition, certain drugs, including androgens, lithium and barbiturates are known to cause acne. Greasy cosmetic products may alter cells therefore aggravate this skin condition but they do not cause Acne. Also, environment irritants, squeezing or picking at blemishes, and hard scrubbing of the skin can make acne worse.
Early Acne scars prevention
Acne affects up to 80% of people in their teens and twenties, and up to 50% of older adults. While many people recover from Acne without any permanent effects, some people are left with disfiguring acne scars. There are some topical treatments available but most deep acne scars are treated with combination of surgical procedures and skin resurfacing. After the acne lesion has healed, it leaves a red mark on the skin which is not a scar and normally would heal without skin change. The problem with Acne is that so many spots can be presented that the body cannot cope with healing them. The best way to prevent acne scarring is to prevent acne lesions from occurring.
